With Panasonic, you can choose from 3 different types of Home Theaters that match your preference and room. Panasonic SC-PT770 Overview; High Quality Sound: The SC-PT770 uses front and center Bamboo Cone Speakers and a Kelton Subwoofer for crisp, clear mid- and high-frequency ranges and powerful, deep bass. A rigid, low-density bamboo material used in the fron and center speaker's cones helps achieve a clean, responseive sound. Vocals are pure and clear and dialog is crisp and easy to understand. The Kelton Type Subwoofer has an internal structure that is divided into two completely sealed spaces. The drive unit that is mounted to the space in the back causes the air in the front space to vibrate. This causes and Acoustic Filter effect in the front space to absorb unwanted noise while also vibrating the Passive Radiators. This achieves highly robust, reverberating bass sounds. Built-in Dolby Digital and DTS Decoder renders movie-theater-like sound while Home Theater Mode produces a total ouput power of 1000W of High Clarity Sound. Easy to Use: The built-in Universal Dock for iPod gives you a great new way to enjoy music and video3. Just slip your iPod into the cradle and enjoy. The dock charges your iPod , allows you to use the home theater remote to control the iPod , has on-screen audio menus, and also plays back iPod video. The SC-PT770 includes the front to rear wireless speakers, and a High Speed 5-DVD/CD changer with Multi-format Plaback: DVD-Video, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD-R, +R, +RW, CD, CD-R/RW, Video CD, SVCD, WMA, MP3, and JPEG. Environmentally Friendly: Add to this feature set a Smart Setup mode with Auto Speaker Setup and and Energy Star compliance, Low Power consumption for Stand-by (0.1W), and you have an ideal Home Theater solution.

"A bargain for the price!" 2009-10-22
By Michael G. Boegh (Las Vegas NV USA Earth)
I bought this system a couple of weeks ago for use in my 800 sq. foot apartment. Bottom line--it rocks!

At first, I was mightily peeved that it only had one HDMI port. I thought FOR SURE it had two of 'em. Well, I just assumed that it would, as nowadays, all you need to do to hook up a kickass surround sound system is to run an HDMI cord from the Cable box to the home theater system, and then one more from there to the TV.

Nope, Panasonic went cheap and added a degree of difficulty.

So, in order to use this system to it's maximum, I ran a fiber-optic audio cable from the Cable TV box into the Panasonic unit, and an HDMI cable from the Cable TV box to the TV (I've got a 40" Sharp Aquos TV). Then I ran an HDMI cable from the Panasonic unit to the TV, also. Works like a charm! And the sound is really amazing. I am blown away by how good it is (maybe because I went without for almost a year!). But the subwoofer really gets the job done, and the other speakers have excellent, crisp sound.

My only gripe, besides only having one HDMI port, is that the rear 'wireless' speaker wires (the ones that go to the wireless receiver) are only 10 feet long--12 feet would've been much better. I can't put the wireless receiver unit between the two speakers, due to the configuration of my living room and furniture, so the proprietary speaker wires kind of hang limp and look ghetto-ish behind my couch.

Otherwise, for the price, it's an unbeatable system. It would get five stars if it had another HDMI port and the rear surround wires were a bit longer.

 "SUPERB System" 2009-07-07
By Tina
I ordered this system from Buydig.com last week because it was less expensive than anywhere else on the web. I was scheduled to receive this item within 3-6 business days, but I received it in less than 2 days from the time I ordered it! I'm not very tech savvy, so it took me like an hour to figure everything out. I have a medium sized living room, and the system came equipped with more than enough wire. The sound quality is WONDERFUL, and the sub is FAR BEYOND IMPRESSIVE!! It sounds like I am really sitting in a movie theater, even when the sub is adjusted to level 1. My neighbor came over and asked me to turn it down; he said that he couldn't hear anything, but that he could feel the vibrations of the sub (which was ONLY set to level 1 at the time)...that should speak for itself!! I love the 5 disc DVD/CD changer; the picture quality is also MAGNIFICENT! It also comes equipped with an AM/FM radio, but I have yet to find the time to set it up. This Panasonic is at the TOP OF ITS GAME. I have ABSOLUTELY NO cons at this particular time. If you're looking for a QUALITY, moderately priced home theater system, then this is most definitely the way to go. You will NOT be disappointed; your neighbors will hate you, but I think it's WELL WORTH IT!

By Adam Kristensen (Minneapolis, MN USA)
Pros: Attractive design, easy set up, good sound quality (for the most part).

Cons: Unintuitive setup and menus, intermittent cut out from the rear wireless speakers, poor picture quality from the DVD player. Also, I have yet to be able to watch a movie on the DVD player without the picture freezing for a split second every two to three seconds. It's very distracting and disappointing after spending this amount on a new DLP television and home theater system.

 "Great low end system!" 2009-05-15
By S2H (Council Bluffs, IA)
Was in the market for a home theatre system and after looking at several different brands, I settled on the Panasonic SC-PT770 system. Went with the Panasonic since I have a 56" Panasonic tv. This was very easy to set up and works great in the small area that I have it in. The sound quality is great! The sub hit's with a very nice deep thump! I love the IPod connection with the one screen display. Works very well. The wireless rear speakers work great as well. I did not have any issues or interference with my wireless network like some other folks have mentioned in their reveiw. Of course, I do agree that there was not enough speaker wire for the rear speakers. I used the sound setup mic and it seemed to dial in the speakers like it was supposed to. Thus far, I am very pleased with this system and would highly recommend it!!!

"This center channel is huge!" 2009-09-29
By Belasko7 (Surprise, AZ)
In case you're like me... I didn't realize how big this speaker is. It's bigger than my dvr and dvd stacked together. Now as for the sound quality... I love the sound it puts out. I have some older Polk Audio Speakers and with the center channel addition, it sounds great. For the record, I'm an average music listener. I couldn't begin to tell you specs on what I'm hearing. I can just say... I like it.

The center channel has handled everything I've throw at it fairly well. Much better for TV/Movies than for music though. I would buy it again, but right after I bought it for $149, it was available elsewhere for $119. It's a steal at that price.

I purchased this center channel from best buy and it provides excellent sound. I bought a DVD of Tom Petty live in concert and when I cranked it up it felt like I was in the front row...absolutely incredible. The vocals come through crystal clear proving an excellent experience. I have this center connected to an Onkyo 607 with TSI 400's as my front speakers. Sound quality is excellent from Polk.

I'm using this with an Onkyo TR-606 alongside a Toshiba 62" DLP HDTV and a full set of Polk speakers, and the sound quality is remarkable. It also looks nice (though the picture here doesn't make it look that way with the front cover missing) and it fits nicely on a shelf.

 "Great for entertaining" 2009-10-08
By Mike Finnegan (Seattle)
I bought one as a gift for a friend. He'll probably use it in his kitchen and on the patio as an extension of his entertainment system. We used it over the weekend and sound is surprisingly great considering the form factor. Bass is rich and can be boosted if desired. Slightly lacking midrange but high end is fine. Regardless, there's plenty of range for background, ambience, etc. while cooking or entertaining. Enough volume to rock out if you had a pair for stereo. The packaging shows a speaker on a patio with a bunch of people sitting around a dinner table and that's exactly what they're great for. Can't beat the price either. I highly recommend it and will buy for myself if my current wireless speakers need replacement.

By David J. Kamin
The description of the product did not specify that an audio out connection was required on whatever you hooked it up to. I had to purchase a separate Y connector to get it to work with my digital TV(music channels). The cost, however for the additional cabel was miniscule. The product has outstanding transmission range and superb audio quality. Well worth the investment.

 "Good wireless solution" 2009-09-11
By ike porter (Northern Virginia)
I was searching for wireless speakers for an outdoor event, and I'm certain these will do nicely. While it's true that the transmitter needs to be plugged into the music source (via a standard headphone jack that will fit all devices I would need it to) and into a wall outlet, I expected that. For a test run I plugged into my laptop sitting in the middle of the first floor then slotted 6 AA batteries into the speaker and turned it on. It automatically picked up the signal. I took a walk around the house and got about 100' away and still got good signal. I also like the feature to select L,R,or Mono on the speaker itself. Bass boost helps the sound a lot. Also, I was able to run 4 speakers from 1 transmitter. Don't know yet about interference or battery life for the speaker. I love the aesthetics of it.

 "Acoustic ResearchAw825 3-inch 2-way Wireless Speakers Not wireless" 2009-09-09
By D. Byrd
I bought this 'wireless' speaker in hopes of using it in my back or front yard, where ever I may need it. The problem is it isn't really wireless. Not only does it have to plug into you system via a WIRE but also plug into an outlet VIA A WIRE in order for the speaker to function. Now the speaker is independent of a wire but no where on the description was the need to plug into my system and I had no port for a plug in to my panasonic surround sound theater system. If so I would have checked my system before I bought it. I feel that this is false advertising, if it has wires it isn't wireless!

The only issue I have is there are 3 Allen screws

But they slowly go to the downward position.I might

"Great HT speakers with proper placement" 2009-08-26
By jray (usa)

The SL's when matched up with a quality sub and receiver sound absolutely fantastic as a surround sound speaker setup. I originally was considering the quintet III's but for slightly more you can get the sl's which come with an extra woofer and ported enclosures for the front LRC speakers. While watching movies I hear sounds that I never heard before and sometimes will hear things that I think are coming from another room or outside. The sound reproduction is incredibly realistic. They do lack on bass so that's where the subwoofer kicks in (I would consider a subwoofer mandatory for any system that didn't have large floor standing speakers).

Placement of the speakers is critical in fully realizing the sound of these speakers. Do not place the left and right speakers too close to the sides of the monitor. After some experimentation I settled at a distance of approximately 16ft from left speaker to right speaker with a 52 inch monitor and the sound is just incredible. From the sofa that puts them at about a 35 degree angle from the viewing position. Rear speaker also same deal as far as distance apart. Acoustics vary from room to room so before mounting them try them at a few different distances while watching a good disc. The distance I used for mine seem optimal for the room size and ceiling hight that I have.

As for music they sound fine but definitely not going to blow you away. As one of the reps at Klipch told me when I had some questions on these speaker "if you want to listen to music like you are at a rock concert then buy speakers that look like they should be at one". If music is more important and you have the space then a floorstanding speaker like the Klipch RF82 would be my choice and then piece together the center and rears.

For home theater watching sports or blurays the SL's provide great sound without taking up a lot of space. I give 5 stars for HT use. I had a bose system prior to this and these are much better souning. The SL's do not disappoint.

 "Klipsch = Quality" 2009-08-24
By Michael E. Boos (Ill-of-noise)
I have been a musician and a sound tech. for over 40 years so I'm dealing with trained ears that are not easily impressed. What I would like to share is that I am running a set of Klipsch Quintet SL 5.1 on my Home Theater System with the Klipsch Sub 12 Subwoofer powered by a Denon 989. This sytem is set up in your standard carpeted 12 X 16 living room with an 8 foot ceiling.

In short ... WOW. These surround speakers are reproducing everything from the softest whisper to the loudest explosion with great detail. Cymbals and horns are crisp, full and well defined in music passages. Frequency responce is extremely accurate as measured with a full spectrum real time SPL anaylzer. Spacial acuity is fantastic and very affective during action or SciFi movies. These speakers are a MUST HAVE if you're using the Klipsch Sub 12. This Thunder Box easily shakes the whole house and is beyond a doubt overkill. (The Sub 10 would have been more than adequate but I just had to have the 12. It's a guy thing) The Quintet SL's keep up with it very nicely to make a well balanced system.

Movies take on a new dimension when you hear the gun shot by the big screen then you hear the bullet whiz by your ear and ricochet off of the wall near your head. My wife hides behind her couch pillow during movies and the dog gets up and leaves the room. When it rains on TV you can almost smell it.

HOWEVER, These speakers are not a one trick pony. Music is served very well. Some surround speakers suffer when music is applied while these excel. From the softest flute, voice or violin to the loudest crash bang Rock, every note is there in detail.

When you handle these speakers you can FEEL the quality. I don't mean weight. They are an average weight for their size. I mean every aspect of a quality built item. AND ... They LOOK just as good as they sound in the room.

I would also like to address their limitations. As soon as I find some I'll get back with you. Don't "spend" money on brand X systems ... "Invest" in Klipsch. I did and I don't regret it.

These speakers were very weak. The sound was very weak, even with my mp3 player turned up all the way. I had to hold the speakers close to my ears to hear clearly. The speakers do not have their own power source, so this makes them a lot weaker than speakers the use batteries or that have their own power source.

 "Don't Waste your money" 2009-09-29

This product is a "passive" speaker system that does not use batteries and depends on the power of your device to output any sound. It is a complete waste. Most devices I tried it with output about as much sound from these speakers as earbuds out of the ear. I can't imagine anyone wanting to carry around this amount of bulk and not have any sound loud enough to hear in a very quiet room. NOT recommended.

Without an internal amplifier (speakers only, no batteries), this unit puts out more undistorted volume than several small USB rechargeable units I have tried. At max volume with my Creative Zen Plus, I get sufficient volume to hear audio books clearly even with some noise in the room. No distortion (unlike small powered units at max volume). Must be the big thin speakers used. A pleasant surprised, I have ordered more.

By Steve T. (Glendale, CA USA)
I bought these speakers to replace stock one's in the back rear shelf of a car. The stock ones that they replaced were smaller and this was the largest size that I could upgrade to. They are great sounding and were a decent price, especially for the 4-way feature they have, you get the high's, low's and deep sub-woofer sounds, as they are supposed to be. They are a pair, bye the way, you will get two speakers here, just so that you know.

The 6882 speakers are great, but I didn't get the WOW that others got when replacing their factory oem's. Guess my 2000 Ford Ranger had better speakers coming off the line. I had to replace a buzzing speaker after taking my truck swimming one day, so I did all four. I have a Pioneer DEH-P3700MP deck, so these speakers work well powerwise, no need for an amp. I decided to go for the 4-way speakers since they were only a few bucks more. Great bass and highs, but the mids are slightly lacking. You may have to play with the eq a bit to get it right. These speakers are great quality for the price compared to other brands.

"Better than stock ford explorer 2000 speakers" 2009-10-14
By Stoneacheck
I enjoy good sound. I have nice Shure in-ear headphones, decent klipsch bookshelf speakers for my home theater, and have learned how to tell the difference if an MP3 is encoded in a bitrate lower than V0 VBR. Point is, I've been rolling around with a stock head unit and speakers in my explorer for the last 3 years. Why? Laziness, fear of destroying the car, etc. Turns out, the interior panels are really easy to take off. I didn't want to replace the head unit yet because a.) i just wanted to try my hand at car audio and see what i could do. If i screwed it up, no big deal, my old speakers weren't even bad, people think they are much nicer than stock to begin with. Keep in mind these do not come with the "harnesses" that match up to the piece of plastic the stock speakers use. I suppose you could pay for these things, I just stripped the wire down behind where the male end of the harness lives in the door, and crimped in the wire that came with the speakers, wrapped some nice new and sticky electrical tape around it, and was good to go. door panels back on and enjoying the music. Tools required? philips, flathead (to pry door handle piece off), wood chisel (to pry entire door panel off), good grip, and a strong stomach (the sound of the plastic slugs ripping outta their slots the first time is scary scary. Lastly, you'll need wire cutters/strippers if you do it my way, and a vice grip needlenose pliers to undo some of the screws holding down the speaker (might be real tight, those pliers loosen em right up).

ok, the part most people will care about without explorers. The sound quality... it's actually really nice, like everyone else said. It's not mind blowing, but its quite clear, and I couldn't hear any distortion, despite cranking it louder than I would ever listen. Keep in mind i kept my stock head unit. Would they sound better with a aftermarket one? i'm sure, would I notice or want to spend the money to make my car look tacky with bright blue and red LEDS that don't match anything. nah. bottom line is they sound about 50 bucks better than the old speakers. mids are clearer, bass is much much tighter (it used to "roll" a lot, like you couldn't separate out kick drum from basslines, and was too boomy. these have a lot of punch but are accurate, not overdone). highs are also quite "present" to use a audio nerd word. aka, its not piercing. i did listening tests on everything from John Mayer's live material to Coheed, Ratatat, Al Green, and Death Cab for Cutie. Wide range, all sounded great. I had a great experience. It was pretty fun too.

Only other thing i'd recommend is if you cut into your wires, find out which are pos and neg. I hit up a local auto shop and they looked it up for me on a site called Directech? good luck and enjoy!

I used these to replace the factory speakers in my 98 Ford Explorer Sport. They sound great compared to the stock speakers, maybe some day I will put in an amp but for now I just have the factory deck. These Pioneer's are deeper than stock, but that was no problem in the rear. In the front I had to space them out 1/4" to clear the window rail inside the door. Not a big problem, just something to be aware of.

Overall I would not be without the cable. It is a wonderful way to utilize the ipod, which stays discreetly in the glove box. I only remove it to synch with itunes. It also works fine with my 3g iphone, subject to the same limitations discussed below. For $30 it's a "no-brainer." However, there is room for improvement. Likely, the improvement needs to come from the receiver's operating software, i.e., it's ability to display and play the content from the ipod is only as good as the software that runs it.

Observations:

No latency between navigating content and ipod response time. It works

as fast as if navigating the ipod itself.

Functionality Cons:

Cannot navigate back to artist or album selection from a song playing

within a playlist.

Video content does not display. Receiver says there is no video signal. It seems that the cable and the 6th Gen ipods are not compatible.

Genius playlist functionality is not supported. Big disappointment as this is the main reason I upgraded to the latest ipod classic.

Navigating pages is a little cumbersome. I have about 80gb of music on my

ipod which translates into pages and pages of screens. If I'm trying to get to a song/album that starts with M, for example, it requires a surgeon's precision and some luck to get close to it. Ideally, they would add a character list so you could navigate directly to that letter of the alphabet.

Occasionally the ipod hangs. The screen just displays "reading." Requires

restarting the receiver.

I'm not sure if it's the cable or my ipod but for some reason I cant play any of my videos to my Kenwood sterio system. I have updated everything but still no video so I'm giving this 4 stars, other than that it works pretty good.

Product works perfectly with my DDX512, even though I hate iPods, having all your songs in your HU is really nice!
